On behalf of the entire staff, welcome you to the Men’s 18 Hole Golf Club! This handbook is designed to give you a clear framework for both serious golf and serious fun.
Membership in the Men's 18-Hole Golf Club comes with exciting opportunities: a year-long calendar of exclusive events, an officially recognized USGA/AGA handicap, a season-long points chase rewards program, and the chance to participate in our hole-in-one prize pool.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership Qualification
The Men's 18-Hole Golf Club is a State of Arizona not-for-profit corporation, recognized as tax-exempt under IRC 501 (c)(7). Membership is open to all male amateur golfers. NO eligible applicant shall be denied membership on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin.
Valid membership may be obtained through one of the following:
- A Sun City Oro Valley resident with a current SCOVCAI membership card
- A non-resident having a valid 18-Hole Annual Membership at The Views Golf Club
- A current SCOVCAI employee who pays the applicable dues of the club
Membership Dues
The Men's 18-Hole Golf Club 2026 season runs from November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2026. Annual membership dues are $40.00 for all members.
Membership registration must be completed through The Views Golf Club website. The Pro Shop will begin processing renewal requests on October 1st. A $25 late fee will be assessed for renewals submitted on or after November 10th.
Membership Cancellation/Refund
Once approved, membership dues are generally non-refundable, except for special individual circumstances approved by the Men’s 18 Hole Golf Club Board.

Tournaments and Club Events – 2026 Season
Overview
The Men’s 18-Hole Golf Club offers a full calendar of Wednesday events, Major Tournaments, and BASH
Lunches throughout the season. Membership includes eligibility for:
• Weekly Wednesday morning Club Events
• Earning participation points to qualify for Major Tournaments
• Attendance at BASH Lunches and Club meetings
• Entry into the annual Hole-in-One Prize Pool
• Inclusion in the season-long Participation Points Race
2026 Season Totals
• 38 Club Events = 114 Participation Points available
• 7 BASH Lunches = 14 Participation Points available
• 5 Major Events = 35 Participation Points available
Club Events, BASH Lunches & Meetings
Club Events
• Held most Wednesday mornings during the season.
• Fees: $5 per member (paid via credit card/credit book on file in the Pro Shop or in cash)
BASH Lunches
Each BASH includes a Club meeting where we conduct business, share updates on the health of the
organization, and invite member feedback.
• Attendance at meetings is open to all members, whether or not they participate in the catered lunch.
• Fees: $10 per member (paid at the golf event or in cash)
• Each BASH includes a 50/50 Raffle for cash and merchandise:
o $20 for five (5) tickets or $5 for one (1) ticket
o Cash prizes are based on the raffle pool
o A member may not win more than one prize
Major Events
Each event requires a minimum number of Participation Points (PP) to qualify.
• Specific fees, dates, and PP requirements will be listed for each event.
• All events are included in the Schedule of Events.

The Season-Long Points Chase
The Season-Long Points Chase recognizes members who consistently support Club events. Points are used both
to qualify for Major Tournaments and to reward overall participation. This benefit is open to all active members
in good standing at the end of the 2026 season.
Participation Points (PP)
• Scoring is tracked through Golf Genius, which links directly to GHIN.
• Attendance at BASH Lunches is tracked manually from the roster.
• To earn points, members must complete the event, have their score accepted, and (for BASH) attend the
lunch after paying the fee.
• Points are awarded once results are posted in Golf Genius.
• Issues must be submitted in writing to Byard Dawson within 24 hours.
• Impact of medical suspensions on PP will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Points Breakdown
• 2 points – BASH Lunch & Club Meeting attendance
• 3 points – Weekly Men’s Club events
• 7 points – Major Events
• 10 points – Holding a Board or Committee position
Payouts
The Season-Long Points Race Prize Pool will be funded by a portion of annual membership dues. Prizes will be
awarded at the first Club meeting of 2027.
• Each eligible member receives 1 raffle ticket per 10 PP earned (e.g., 62 PP = 6 tickets).
• Five (5) winners will be drawn, each receiving $200 cash.
• A member may not win more than one prize.

Hole-in-One Prize Pool
• Participation requires a $10 buy-in at the start of the season.
• Only holes-in-one scored at The Views Golf Club by participating members are eligible.
• The prize pool is divided equally among qualifying members.
• If no hole-in-one occurs during the season, the pool rolls over to the following year.
• For 2026, the Club will seed the prize pool with $250.
• Payouts will be awarded at the first Club meeting of 2027.
Verification Requirements
To qualify, members must submit:
• Completed scorecard
• Hole number and club used
• Name of the player making the shot
• Name of at least one Men’s 18-Hole Golf Club member or SCOVAI resident who witnessed the shot
All documentation must be provided to The Views Golf Club Pro Shop staff.

MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
General Expectations
All Men’s 18-Hole Golf Club members are expected to:
• Know and abide by this Handbook, the Events & Tournament Handbook, and the Men’s Club By-laws
• Know and abide by The Views Golf Club Handbook – etiquette, dress code, conduct, medical
suspension requests, cancellation/no-shows, booking starting times (non-club play), and Golf Genius
• Know and abide by Local Rules printed on the back of the Scorecard
• Establish and maintain a valid USGA handicap
• Know and abide by the USGA® Rules of Golf
Member Software Requirements
Club business and events are managed through GHIN/AGA, Golf Genius, and The Views Golf Club website.
• Register via The Views website
• Download the Golf Genius mobile app and create an account to access scoring and rosters (scores
update to GHIN automatically)
• Maintain an AGA/GHIN account (annual dues required); manually post all non-Men’s Club rounds

Handicaps
Members are responsible for posting all scores under USGA Equitable Stroke Control™ (ESC) guidelines.
Posting Rules
• Post all scores in stroke play, match play, and team events where individual scores count
• Post when playing ≥13 holes of 18 or ≥7 holes of 9 (record par + handicap strokes for un-played holes)
• Post if playing two nines (same or different days) – combine into an 18-hole score
Do Not Post
• Specialty events limiting clubs (e.g., one-club, irons-only)
• Events where most holes are not played under USGA Rules (e.g., scrambles)
Failure to post within 36 hours will result in a score equal to the lowest score on record being posted.
Equitable Stroke Control™ (ESC)
Maximum score per hole depends on Course Handicap:

Player Conduct
Members must demonstrate respect and integrity. Expectations include:
• Repairing divots and ball marks
• Driving carts responsibly
• Avoiding cheating, club throwing, vulgar language, excessive anger, alcohol abuse, drug use, or
disrespectful behavior
Violations may result in disqualification, suspension, or expulsion. The Board reserves the right to revoke
membership without refund.

• Non-compliance may result in penalties, disqualification, suspension, or expulsion.
• The most current version is always available on the Club website.
